Sports Massage: Injuries, Post & Recovery Massage

This course provides an in-depth understanding of sports massage techniques with a focus on injury prevention, post-event massage, and recovery for athletes. Students will learn how to apply massage techniques that enhance athletic performance, improve flexibility, and aid in injury recovery. The course covers essential anatomy and kinesiology, explaining how to address specific injuries and optimize post-event and recovery massage. Through video submissions and assignments, students will demonstrate their ability to assess and treat common athletic injuries using appropriate massage protocols.

Learning Objectives
- Identify the goals and applications of sports massage, focusing on injury prevention and recovery. 
- Demonstrate post-event and recovery massage techniques and their benefits for athletes. 
- Develop specific treatment plans for common sports injuries, considering anatomy, biomechanics, and the nature of the injury. 
- Recognize signs of common muscle conditions and their implications for athletic performance. 
- Apply stretching fundamentals, including active isolated stretching, to enhance flexibility and range of motion.
